"Water water every where"

This this week we saw a Nor'easter sweep through Tidewater Virginia. There was flooding all over Tidewater, from Virgiana Beach to Suffolk and from Yorktown down to Chesapeake and North Carolina. Both roads leading into our subdivision were flooded. Last night after my mom picked me up from having worked at Cracker Barrel, we had to park our car and wade through the water that was covering the road. The water went up to our knees. We made it home. Emily was at work. The flooding was over many roads and most of the bridges were closed. The police had the sheriffs and detectives out, in addition to the police. So my mom asked a church friend who owns a truck to drive my sister home, because their truck could push through the water better then our low cars. This morning things were like Genesis 8, much better. The wind was up, and the water was subsiding. Then by noon the roads were passable.

We thought about our time during the Typhoon Pongsonga on Guam. Our family was blessed from God to have a house built on higher ground.

A crazy person at the end of our block trying to blaze through the worst flood in our area. This flood was probably thigh deep.

A car pushing though the water, at the other end of the street.

A neighbor's flooded yard.

DJ: WOW! Ida made a bigger impact on you all than down here in FL where it came ashore! PTL you and Mum got home safely and that Mr. Andrews was able to get Em in his high-bed truck. Be safe, dad+
