David with the Baker family

Many of you have heard David speak of the Baker family. This is a family who in ~1971 brought David into their family and loved him through some challenging times. Earlier in July Mr. Baker died, he was nearly 92; David returned 'home' to be with family and to officiate at the memorial service.

Last Summer, 2006, Emily taught Mr. Baker to sign 'I love you.' He continued to remember and use this sign in his nightly routines.

DJ's summer garden

Dj is our gardener... he digs, plants, weed, nurtures the plants and enjoys the harvest. This year we have had zucchini, tomatoes, potatos, green peppers, corn, garlic, onions... And in his spare time he is finishing High School and practicing his driving skills. Over his left shoulder, in the background, are the newly added pull-up bar; physical training is still a vital part of his daily routines.

Summer has been filled with school school and more school; but Emily's favorite was, can anyone guess(?), ASL 2 :-} But she did stop occassionally to smell the flowers.
